Smart casual outfits for work and afterwards

Started the day in the office, suited up with sneakers to dress it down a notch. Changed to jeans, crewneck and shirt afterwards. 3 degrees Celsius outside so I fetched my wool coat from the storage, feels to cold for either leather jacket or trenchcoat.

    Have a great one!

Light blue summer suit today, with black shirt and brown derbies. Just another day at the office, dressed to impress.

    Stay sharp!

..combined with a very basic office attire.

Will be working the whole week on site, since we are building prototypes of our product.

This is where F2F makes sense and you can really shine as a good project manager. Praising colleagues for their efforts and their work, quick fixing technical issues, working on relationships and banking some trust points from the individual team members for times to come, where you will be relying solely on influence to get your project prioritized or have engineers clock in overtime to make up for the not so realistic corporate goal setting.

Having the product physically available makes a lot of stuff easier when collaborating. Aside from that I don’t see much benefit of being on site, just to fulfill some KPI or corporate guidance. While preparing work that is mainly achieved working on a computer, remote work has huge benefits, less disruption! Plus with modern VOIP software and screen sharing collaboration on CAD work is much easier and you don’t borderline on making permanent enemies at work, if you touch someone’s screen.

Ah good old times, who else remembers sharing models/ drawings upfront with different teams via mail and then navigating telephone conferences trying to figure out on what feature the guys across the line are looking at, when they make recommendations.

Enjoy your work! Try not taking it overly serious & stay away from burning yourself out for the shareholders.

    Office drone..

..maybe the most basic outfit for days at the office. To make the look complete, I would advise you, to lose the blazer as soon as you reach your cubical, roll off your sleeves, but keep the tie & grab a aluminum cup of coffee with a straw. Then you are ready for a day of gossiping and pretending to be busy. If you feel really hardcore, put on a short sleeved shirt!

Don‘t take life to seriously, you won‘t make it out alive. Have a great rest of your workweek!

..but not enough to go full charcoal. Suit is from Mango Tailored and I was quite stunned by the quality and the fit. Pants are not as narrow as Massimo Dutti or Hugo Boss and I got the suit with a 30% discount. Only the trousers needed length adjustment, length of the jackets arms is quite good, a bit too much padding in the shoulders, but that’s currently en-vogue I guess.

Maybe next time I will put it with black derbies, a black shirt and a charcoal tie. For the complete John Wick look I’m then only missing the hair.
